As part of our journey towards moving cross-culturally, we have spent this past week in North Carolina with other families who are also moving to other nations. While the parents do some training on a variety of aspects of getting ready to go, the kids get their own training! We have been blown away at all the ways the staff from our organization have been teaching our kids about different cultures, about what it’s like in Malawi, and how to transition from Canada to another nation. They’ve tried different foods, learned about different missionaries, have read countless books and done countless activities to prepare them for the road ahead. What an incredible time it’s been! The kids had their very own HOUSE on the property of the organization- just dedicated to them. There are countless books and resources and our staff person in Canada whose sole job it is to connect with missionary children on the field, has been here with us all week building into and getting to know our kids.
We are thanking God a lot this week for how He is already going ahead of the kids and giving us new touch points to talk about with them to help us thrive as a family on this journey.
That is so amazing! I would love to follow your journey and be praying for you throughout the preparation and into ministry!
Your kids are going to thrive with this whole experience! How rich they will be through your courage and faithfulness.
