I have been seeing and hearing first hand from colleagues at the hospital, the tragedy COVID has caused in a short period of time. We have patients who have arrived having lost multiple family members due to COVID, now sick themselves in our treatment tent, and it is heartbreaking. We have seen young people become very sick, and those we thought would recover, lose their lives. The government took the national stadium and turned part of it into a treatment facility meant to help overrun hospitals like ours, manage patients. However, this has meant more competition for oxygen supplies and healthcare staff that are already stretched thin. Our own facility is struggling to keep up with the demand for PPE to protect staff.
